Mr. Toast - Bluesman Born in Tiffin, Ohio in 1959, I was first exposed to Motown, Soul, R & B, and the Blues when I was about seven years old. After starting to play harmonica when I was twelve, and spending thirteen years unsuccessfully looking for people to play with who shared my interests and philosophies, in 1984 I finally gave up and began playing guitar myself and gigging as a solo act. I began gigging regularly in Sonoma County, California while pursuing an undergraduate degree in Art at Sonoma State University. After deciding to pursue both the Blues and a graduate degree in Sculpture at the University of Mississippi, I moved to Oxford, Mississippi and resumed my steady performing as both a solo act, and as front man to the bands Smokestack Lightnin and Mr. Toast

I have been fortunate enough to share billing and/or perform with some of the blues worlds greats such as Junior Kimbrough, R.L. Burnside, T-Model Ford, Frank Frost & Sam Carr, Willie Foster, Eugene Powell, Roy Rogers, Norton Buffalo, Shuggy Otis, Nick Gravenites, and others. These men and others have inspired me to remain well rooted in the Blues, and endeavor to remain creative, soulful, individual, and original... To them I owe more than I could ever repay.
