Inspired by the work of guys like Jon McNair, I set out to see if I could build a cigar box guitar and make some music. I actually built 2 @ the same time due to the fact that there is downtime while glue dries. All materials were free or close to free. The tuning pegs, strings and neck wood were sourced from local stores.Hardware and the boxes were “finds”. I used only handtools (drill, saw, exacto knife, level, ruler,Elmers wood glue, clamps, sandpaper)–in fact the only tool that used electricity was the soldering iron for the pick up install which will be detailed @ another time.
