Covered a bit more ground with what little time I have to work on this project. I put sleeves in the end of the neck for the strings to thread though without cutting into the neck wood. I drilled the wholes for the tuners as well.
A quick update on the project… I carved a butterfly onto the body. I probably shouldn’t be so concerned with aesthetics on cbg #1 but as an artist I can help it! I also used a program to make a template for the fret scales.
I’m too the point of prepping the pieces to be stained. I chose red mahogany for the neck and I’m going to go with a gloss clear on the body.
Got first layer of stain on the pieces and did a bit more wood burning on the body. I can’t wait to put a final clear on them and assemble this thing!
