I’m too the point of prepping the pieces to be stained. I chose red mahogany for the neck and I’m going to go with a gloss clear on the body.
Got first layer of stain on the pieces and did a bit more wood burning on the body. I can’t wait to put a final clear on them and assemble this thing!
The neck is now epoxied to the body very securely and the frets are now in place! Tuners are installed and it’s ready to be strung!
Basically finished with this build. All that is lacking is to drill a hole on top to feed the volume control that I wired in to the transducer and pop a knob on it.
This was a great learning experience for me and now a few of my students are going to take a crack at building one. I can’t wait to get started on my next one!
